WILDLIFE

Many years ago when I started my professional photography career, I wanted to be a bird photographer.  That is until I realized birds don't buy bird portraits and neither do many people.  Even though I did sell a few (to people) and my highest selling print of all times is one of a whooping crane, I decided I'd better expand to other things.  So, I began shooting other forms of wildlife.  After moving the the Black Hills of South Dakota, I began shooting a lot of wildlife native to the area:  mountain goats, big horn sheep, bison, antelope, prairie dogs, and wild horses.  My favorites are the wild horses of Theodore Roosevelt National Park in North Dakota.  Beautiful creatures in a beautiful environment.  It turns out that my next highest selling print is one of those horses "King of the Badlands."
